Nicholas NicklebyIn Nicholas Nickleby ,the tamper, Dickensdramatically portrays real life through his charactersand the experiences they face. In the play the charactersare very straight forward with their emotions andeverything they do seems so extreme , but at the sametime real. An example of this realism, in the play, is thecharacter of Ralph Nickleby. He is a very connivingperson who uses tribe and takes advantage of themwhenever he gets the opportunity to do so. Personally hereminds me of a greedy business human beings who enjoys takingpeople and draining them for everything they are worth.Then when they run dry he is all of a sudden not theirfriend. Ralph Nickleby always seemed so plague and cold. Isee many similarities between the characters of RalphNickleby and Scrooge from A Christmas Carol. Theyboth are very greedy men who only care aboutthemselves. other very good example of realism in the playis Ralph Nicklebys niece and nephew. NicholasNickleby and his sister Kate are very benevolent people.They are very caring and excepting of others. They get hold ofout to the people who need it the most. When Nicholassaw Smike and the rest of Dotheboys Hall he was shockedand saddened to see how they were treated by theSquires. Nicholas and Kate are almost opposites of theiruncle, Ralph. Smike is one of those people who make you feel badwhen you feel sorry for your self because even though hehad never really received love from anyone he was aloving and caring person. He was grateful of what hehad when he had nothing. He was very appreciative ofNicholas and Kates caring treatment to him and healways make that clear. He is somebody who we couldall learn a thing or two from.The Mantolinis are a family of snobby people.They own a get up shop where the deep go for theirclothing and that makes them believe that they areGods gift.
